Setting up a planted 40g breeder to house Boesemani Rainbowfish. Tank was cycled fishless (8 days) with some plants 'free floating', 2 Hagen CO2 generators and a twin T5 HO Glo fisxture.
Eventually managed to get the driftwood in and some plants put in place along with my attempt at a moss wall.
Let me know what you think and any suggestions for suitable fish I could put in with 6 Boesemani Rainbows that would match them geographically.

How did you get such a fast cycle? And what will your stock be? Look like a fun project nonetheless.

I did a fisless cycle using 'Ace' Ammonia and Seachem Stability, it went exactly accordig to their documentation (this time). Running a Marineland HOT 250 with Eheim Substrat Pro instead of carbon - I think this really made a big difference in the speed at which the bacteria got established. I'll be hiding a sponge filter somewhere in there when the stock starts to grow.
Currently just have 4 otto's cleaning up the algae (lighting is way over the top untill I finalise my diy canopy/lighting mounting.
Have 4 (2-2 1/2") Boesemani Raibowfish which will be moving in this weekend (will add another two in a week or so), would like to add something else small, possibly something that will school but not sure what (I already have Neon tetras in my community so not those).

Looks cool. Put some cories in there, entertaining little guys.

I see your from simpsonville, where all are there for you to get fish?

Ha! well, we have Petsmart on Woodruff Rd, then there's another Petsmart at Laurens Rd, then there's Petco, and another Petsmart in Greer LOL. Why I love it when people complain on here about Petsmart/Co and say the would never shop there, we don't have much choice.

Cant wait to see the moss wall! What kind of moss are you planning on using?

It's stuffed with Java Moss, hopefully the C02 and good light will mean I don't have to wait too long for it to hide the plastic 'poultry fence' I made it with.
