Mastacembelus dayi or black spotted eel
He's about 20" or so used to have a tire track about same size not sure where he went
In the bottom dwellers>eels forum there's way nicer spiny eels

They're red tin foil barbs. No problem they're too large too be eaten.

He mistakes them for flag tails, which have been reported sucking the slime off of bichirs, so you know why he was asking..

Doubtful but you never know! All are 0-2 years old so maybe in 5 years or so.
