450 cichla tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
no problems what-so-ever...it is a single layer ontop of the acrylic so there is no "bed". when you run the vac over it comes right out....another thing is not very much gets stuck, as I am running an 1800 mag drive and the current it produces pretty much blows most debris up and into the overflow . was $4.00 a 50lb bag (natural river rock-large).

So I assume your returns are pointed down into the substrate? Hmmmm Now you got me thinking about changing my substrate, but its going to be a pain in the ass taking all this out :(

hate to be you...lol....just emptied a 240 and a 125 that had sand substrate...what a pain in the azz!! didnt remember that much going in after taking it all out

Perfect tank DM, you are a PRO. Perfect water, Superb aqua scaping, FLAWLESS CICHLA. You my friend, are a champion.

Jed, You have a serious case of bacteria bloom. You probably have Ammonia. check the water and do a water change. Your tank should be crystal clear EVEN 10 minutes AFTER a water change.
