Sounds exciting Knobhill!!!! you never cease to amaze me!! I can't wait to see the final product after all this time & effort!! Big hugs from your favorite mermaid!

beast! are you using the ocean clear canisters instead of the fx5s now?

Nope. I have one ocean clear running on my 300g with all my stock (plecos and other community fish). It helped catch all the driftwood particulate. I'm going with 2 FX-5's and a 100g sump with my dart pump.

Haha, thanks wifey! Im still jealous that you get to see the Cleveland aquarium before me!

Sorry I was here watching just been crazy busy so didn't post a bunch. I work with steel allot though so trust me a steel stand will be really cool. Just cost a bit more. But wood will be the same and suport whatever weight as long as you build it well. I would do a steel stand but don't want to weld in my basement and the stand is going to be 10'x4'x41" won't fit through the door at all.

Where were you a few days back? Im locked into a steel stand--already ordered the steel. It's cool though, I'm sure is will be awesome.

LoL @ Didysis --welding in a basement does not sound like a good idea!

@Pacu Mom-- Universal shipped out samples of the marine and rocky backgrounds. I also have LED lights arriving so I will snap some pics to show you all from a tank with similar height.

They can do the marine background 4' tall? You might be on to something! :)

Glad to see you connected with a welder. Are you going to paint or power coat your stand?

I will use rustoleum--I used it for my other steel stands and it worked great!

The marine background can be done 4' tall but only 6ft long. Universal said it would patch two pieces togethor to make it almost seamless. However, if I like the marine background, I may just decide to go with a 2' overflow so no seams will be necessary.

Also, UPS brought me some presents today! My whole-house water filter is here and the beamworks led light arrived as well. I put the 48" light on my 48" x 20" x 30" tank and WOW! It is so much brighter and whiter than the standard 40w florescent that was in there. Plus it only uses 11 watts of power! I am going to put it on my other 4' tall tank tonight so that I can see how effective it is on a tank with that depth.
