How this tank running after a month? You like that you went with K1 towers? Hopefully that ray is nice and fat now.

Wow time flies!

Right?! I'm half way done with a new build of my own and have finished two customer tanks since then. Crazy how fast it goes.

It’s running fantastic! Exactly as designed and wouldn't change a thing. The lighting is a bit dim but that's about it. I'll finish this tank/thread before the end of June.

She’s nice and fat now! Eats like a champ and looks x10 better in person. High activity level like a hen should have as well. She graduated QT last week and gets some one on one time with a male tomorrow before I move her.

Since it is the “Boom boom” tank are they going to spend time in there :D

look at that fat tail... If anyone has any idea how much food it takes to fatten a 20”+ female ray they know it’s a lot.

I let the Ultima run and it took exactly 27 days for it to fill and the water get cloudy. I’m extremely happy with this filter and K1 combo.

The backwash design works great as well. It draws the water level down to 4” so right around 200 gallons available to clean with. The auxiliary is no where close to complete yet

Is 200g how much it always needs or what was needed because you let it go for 27 days? Amazed it lasted that long with how much you were feeding her. Makes me think I can go a month without doing backwash on mine :)

I was thinking of adding a ray and jardini to my tank as folks have had success with them and aimara. Not sure I can dealt with how much good a ray needs though.

You’re setup will go a month easily. I filter and feed heavy so my opinion is biased. 200 gallons will clean a 1000 model no matter the mess inside. You may get away with less gallons with less mech needs.

I would consider a jar before a ray with a wolf. Once you go rays it’s pound town on the ole wallet for the next few years. Wolfs May kill young rays. Adults rays will likely kill the wolf etc
