I agree to be honest. I mean you see a fair few marble males near fully mature at around 10-12" disc on the forums.

I have 2 that are mature at around 6 inches. I only have one that's not gonna be mature by 8 inches. He's pushing 10-11 and is just now starting to unroll.

where would you find a ray that only grows up to 10"...
true, a retic only gets up to like 14-16"disc, but dont forget the 16-20" tail...

That's a big retic. Bigger then most male Marbles. Where are the pics?

What kind of rays do you keep?

are there any species of ray that could live long term in a 180? or even a 150 possibly?

i believe theres a few,
hystrix stay relatively small i think, so do retics, but im not a ray expert im sure some one here can tell you your best choices

My first ray from 14 years ago was a retic, unless it was an orbignyi, which i highly doubt. ended up with 14" disc and a full tail length of around 16". It died 2-3 years for no reason, everything else in the tank was perfectly fine. I'll try to dig up some pics.

That would be the biggest retic I've ever heard of. I'm sure it would be the biggest Retic MFK has ever heard of. By far.

Orb would be a whole different story.

How long did it take to get 14-16 inches?

I had it for 11 or 12 years, but when I first bought her, she was already 10" disc diameter, no clue how long the previous owner had her for.
