Small update. Going to start gluing tomorrow. Have a few more pieces to attach to the stand but wanted to see if the height was right for viewing.:D

Just About All Acrylic Tanks Are setup this way

Is that rigid insulation atop the stand? I never noticed that done before if it is.

How thick is the foam? I was under the impression the foam shouldn't be too thick, with about 1/2" being ideal. I could be wrong, just curious!

Whoops I must have missed the memo. Mine is not. What is the reasoning and should I do it to mine?

There are some members on here who have foam under their tanks and some that don't. Personally all of mine have always used a foam underlayment. From 50-600 gallons. These tanks also sat on diy stands.

Never had anything under 1" thick foam under my tanks. Those tanks are still up and running in other people's homes with no issues.

Tank is still not glued as I was figuring out how I want to plumb it. So in the mean time the frame of the stand has been painted and lids are glued.

Need some thoughts on this.

Does the driftwood look good or not? Only way to get this piece in the tank is to put it in before I finish gluing the tank together.
