I remember they had a HUGE one at the Monterey Bay Aquarium awhile ago. Last time I went, they didn't have the big one anymore, but they did have a smaller Sunfish.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium has had great success keeping the sunfish in the outer bay exhibit. That being said, they usually only keep them for a limited time before releasing them back to the wild and bringing in new ones.

Being a tetraodontiform, the Mola Mola is actually more closely related to pufferfish than puffers are to burrfish or porcupinefish (diodon spp.)

I once had a customer in an LFS try to convince me that there is no way puffers are related to boxfish... GRRRRRR...

I remember reading, a few years back, that these fish are comprised mainly of large bones and therefore are not very desirable to catch for eating. They may be delicious, but of their total weight a high percentage of it is not edible.

Sadly, Ben, it looks like Gr8Karma was right. They euthanized it earlier this year. http://www.huliq.com/54191/aquarium-euthanizes-its-largest-ocean-sunfish
