Awesome. I do this all the time at the LFS in Twin cities metro area. I find it hilarious when you can walk away with a $20-$30 fish for as little as $5-$7. Nice grab. Hope your little female gets big and spawns for you. GL.

I think you are the 1 that not just forgot where you were born, you forget what forum you are on. If I want to learn to cheat people for a such big deal flowerhorn, I am sure I will not be on this forum, again, just try to remind you little baby: This forum mostly is for monster fish caring, not stealing.
If $34.99 for a flowerhorn which you really really love to keep is too expensive for you, then, you are not a flowerhorn native, and if a $5 flowerhorn is dirt cheap for you, then $34.99 shouldn't be too expensive, we are talking about lfs have to pay for their overhead expenses, and who know how long they have to care for the fish before someone buy, or steal away. True, they have inexperience staffs, and you think you are way more qualified than any of them, why don't you get a job at the lfs (instead of stealing), and see 1 day I will walk in there and steal as many fishes as you did from you.

Congrats on the deal. I don't see much wrong with it if they were that crappy, I'd just never rip off a good chain store that took care of their fish and gave out the right info.

Seriously....You must be a lfs owner. 1st off retailers only ever pay no more than a 3rd of wholesale price. Second, when a lfs gets flowerhorn they usually pay about $5 each tops and the FH are all low grade anyway. When they pick up a $5 fish and sell it for $35 that is stealing. It is one thing to sell a high quality FH fry for $35 but lfs pick up anything they can find that is called FH. At least in my neck of the woods. Also if a lfs is going to sell a fish they should know a little about it don't you think?? If they sell a fish for less than it's worth that is entirely their fault. Also mislabeling fish is 100% LFS fault for not knowing which fish they are selling. So don't blame the guy getting a bargain, blame the idiot working or selling the fish.
