when its done

yeah that would be helpful.

update: i bought the rest of the tubing to go to the sump. i still need the outtake tubing that goes in the tank. but i think i can set everything else up tomorrow and let it run with out media or the outtake part (just stick the tube in the tank)

question for chompers, what happens if that tube is to short?

estimate how much you need and cut it.;)

The overflow will work but when there is a power outage it will not restart after the power is restored. That is what makes it a overflow. If the tube is lower then top loop, it is only a siphon.

ok well i tested it out and it worked..i put the over flow in a bucket and then bucket in the sink and used the faucet to fill it up. it worked so then i turned off the faucet (to simulate a power outage) and when i turned it back on it worked fine. so idk. im going to make the pipe longer just to be save. does it have to be cemented in like the rest?

Im not sure. You can lean it at the right angle and get it to look ok. It just takes patients.

Suction cups are the easiest if it's not balanced.

Right now, nothing. Ya have to go one more step before it matters. So right now I am just :screwy: The ones I made are in my bedroom and they gurgle like crazy. I added ball valves to tune them. That is when the height of the vent tube matters. If the vent isn't the highest point, water will leak out if the tube going to the filter backs up (due to the valve).
