wow thats way to much and will cause you to actual worms in your aquarium. YOU CAN NOT FEED IT LIKE THAT IN YOUR TINY SET-UP. I mean are you thick or something, you set up a thread to get advice on feeding and then dismiss it. Your tank is very very very small for the fish you have, untill you upgrade stick with pellets for they effect your water the least. Are you using a worm feeder or defrosting them. All food produces acid and feeding 3 qubes in 1 sitting will drop it for sure

Doing water changes and toxin checks daily,im guessing not. This is why people shouldnt buy RTC because there "on sale" then hope to get a bigger set-up. Get the tank then the fish. This site either has dumb people rejecting advice or dumb people giving advice. Let me know how the "kiddy pool" works out or should I say when your looking for someone to adopt.....

3 in one day i fine! also the cubes are 2cm x 1cm x 1 cm. i upgraded until the kiddie pool has finished! he is on pellets but i wanted him to start eating!

i change water every 2 days, even though my parameters are perfect.

lol ok so when you have an outbreak in gravel worms from over feeding blood worms, i'll be the idiot. 3 cubes is way to much and your arrogance is bringing understanding to why your country is burning from within. Stick with Pellets in the 40 gal any expert will tell you that, dont take enjoyment of feeding it when the tank is that tiny. If you had any knowledge of this fish you would not be argueing with me.

1. you bought a RTC without the proper set-up and knowledge
2. You think a kiddy pool is a good permenant set-up
3. You started a thread asking why your RTC isnt eating the 1st day you got him, no fish do.
4. You think a 40 gal ok to powerfeed in and house an RTC
5. When it gets to big for the 40 and develops "gill curl" no one will want it and it will be killed, for no one will take one in with curl.
6. Dont call me an idiot your the one who bought a RTC with a 40 gallon tank, if you took ten minutes to read 1 of the countless threads warning against buying this fish....you wouldnt of bought it

Please dont call me idiot cause your to arrogant to take advice for my RTC is healthy in a 100 gal and has a 1700 gal pond.....yours has a 40 gal tank and "kiddie pool" set-up. You obviously werent prepared for the fish you got and should of Read the thread about how hard it is to manage a RTC. This fish will cost 10,000+$ over its life time and you bought it cause it was "on sale" lol. Again admit you have no clue and take some helpfull advice becuase when the RTC outgrows your 40 gal no one goin to want it with "gill curl:ROFL:

Our rtc and all of our cats love minnows! It's fun to watch them eat 'em and it gets them all excited. I'd put a couple in at night and then turn off the tank lights and watch the show. Good luck! And definitely get a much bigger tank asap! Our RTC started out at 3" about 6 months ago. Now he's the size of a large eggplant...

not long left till the kiddie pool :) i dont need to anymore, he is eating lol. Welcome to mfk and sorry if you get 'turned off' y this site if you read the above, it rarely ever happens. sorry :uhoh:

i am more than happy to take advice but not from some IDIOT who talks to me like that. I clearly was, read the whole thread, dumbass. I know he will out growout, hence he is a GROWOUT TANK!

Again just ditch the kiddie pool idea because that is way to small. Most kiddie pools are only 75 gallons at most. A growout tank is when someone has a bigger tank and buys a fish to small to put it so they use a smaller tank. YOU DONT HAVE A BIGGER TANK SETUP so your 40 gal isnt a grow out if its the only tank you have. Can you afford a 350 gallon tank because thats what he'll need with in year not a ****in kiddie pool. Obviously you did not read up on this fish, if you did you wouldnt of bought a kiddie pool.

Its a matter of timing he is 5" now and in a month he will be 9" in 6 weeks 12" which will be way to big for your tank. Most likely for you to find and cycle a proper 350gal tank it will be at least 6 weeks. So even if you go buy a 350 gallon set-up today it will be to late. So again your wrong, start expcepting these things before its too late. Arrogance isnt bliss for your RTC.

Again my RTC is fine in a larger tank, so please dont call me the idiot. I cant wait to see add to this thread in 6 mnths when your catfish is gone and your "big" tank is still a dream

Mine grew from 1" to 11" in 8 weeks, did you know they grow that fast.....bet not

7 weeks is a fare estimate to set up and cycle a 300+ tank, yours is 6" now so figure 13" when the new tank is ready.....So he will be stuck in a tiny 40 gal at over a foot long.....he will develop gill curl and you will lose intrest

Buy and cycle the tank before you buy the fish, thats 1 thing at MFK we can all agree about....

Its not an inflatable one, its the plastic ones which can not be moved if not fully taken apart! i call kiddie pools but can easily have a few adults in!!! Whats wrong with a kids pool? Why dos it have to be a tank?! They do the same job!

Like this: http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3681505/Trail/searchtext>POOL.htm

I honestly hate you.

Your so thick....explain to me how you long you think it will to be to set-up and cycle that kiddie pool?

it has been cycling for a week and has 33 days to go. Retarded dumbass.

really a week? last time you didnt even have the filter\heater. But lets assume your telling the truth, which i wont believe till i see photo's, you still got 5 weeks to go. Your RTC will be over a foot in the 40 gal, thats why people say wait till you have the tank. That is point your missing, your in a critical situation and im trying to warn you. Would you rather have an RTC with gill curl or a person speak harsh to you for you to understand your situtation.

So again dont feed anything else beside 1 or 2 pellets a day in the 40gal, its got another 5 weeks in that tank . This fish will survive if you didnt feed it for a week as you really should be feeding as min. as possible. It will not survive be over fed in a 40 gal though esp. 3 cubes of blood worms a day. I care more about this fish's health then your feelings.

i have a heater in place and filters have been purchased. with the current foot print, he should be fine for that period. someone told me to feed him bread and i want to ask you is HALF a slice of THIN bread every 2 days ok?

I also forgot to add, I know have 2 powerful filters in the tank.

I don't really care about yours either, to be completely honest.
