Bigfishnut what made you decide on pond shield? I read how easy it is to use but read that it's very brittle and lots of people have had long term issues.

People I know who have used it for years with great success. The secret is building your tank very solid and doing the proper prep work. How you prepare your seems is very important. Also proper application of the epoxy. It takes extra time but will last decades

Any specifics? I read the manufacturer doesn't recommend using fiberglass cloth. From my research it also looks like people don't always fill the corners before applying and that's where there is a lot of flex.

Fiberglass mat. Not easy stuff to work with, but it's extremely strong. Taking your time to prep the surface is important. Sand thoroughly with 60 grit. I allowed to cure and sanded every coat. Used 3 qts. Total.
