500 gallon african cichlid tank

Sorry for your loss. Nice tank and setup. I have a 220G with some malawian predators in the 12" range. One of these days I will upgrade to a 375-500G tank. I can't wait for that time to come.
 
What type of valve? Here is what I use and ive never had a problem. Heck all toilets are run from these so they have been tried and tested allot. I drip hot and cold for my 1000 gallons. I agree it may not be 100% perfect but ive been going for almost a year now on this setup and its saving me a ton. uploadfromtaptalk1381778958736.jpguploadfromtaptalk1381778999936.jpg

Temp was 92 degrees f and all but 5 fish are dead.....roughly 7-800$ of fish gone with one busted $5 valve. Makes me wonder why I keep fish sometimes :( No idea what I'm going to do now but no chance in hell I'm restocking this tank with another $500+ worth of africans, not yet anyway I would like to keep my marraige...
