500g tank moving question?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
6-8 gorilla-ish people, that's a lot of weight. Biggest gorillas on the corners, the 2 or 3 biggest on the back if going up stairs, the front if going down. You want the monsters where the weight will be concentrated.

True dat. But if he's asking how many people, I'm thinking a forklift is not an option.

I am not sure that I would go the suction cup route. I would worry about the weight of the bottom puling down on the outside walls. Perhaps wood boards under it and carry it that way.

If the wall behind the aquarium is not some crazy wallpaper, or another room, I am a fan of leaving the back open. The flat colour of the wall can sometimes be all it needs.

I looked into suction cups and most were rated to carry only about 35kg the best I could find was 75kg but I don't want to buy them as the are very expensive.
The tank is 350+kg so I am not sur the will hold the weight.
Rent them from home depot.

I tool six guys to move my tank. but we didnt carry it. we had to lift it on and off of the truck, but we put it on dollys and just rolled it where it needed to go.

The tank is going up one step approx 50cm high and carrying distance is no great 25m maybe.
I know people on here have done this I just don't know how many people the used to do it with the least hassles.
