I was just nervous that it wouldn't want to push the water as I only have 3-3.5' of drain pressure. Correct me if I'm wrong but your tank is on a separate level from your filter system? The water will push through the 3" pipe with the setup I have ok? The come idea just came from reading a few posts and looking at a few websites. When you clean yours do you have to add water once it's been flushed?

Nevermind, looking closer at your build thread I see the 180 is behind your large tank. How did you tie your 2" drains into a 3"?

There's (4) 2" drains leaving the tank, I "T" them to a pair of 3" before going into the RFSs. This happens within a foot of leaving the tank. 3" "T"s down to 2" bushings.

I have to siphon mine out. I didn't add drains cause I didn't think the first draft would work, but they work great...... When I siphon them out it only takes 10-15 gallons. I just crack the drip to refill, as I siphon the RFS with a sock change. Just leave the drip wide open overnight to flush and the next day just turn down to a slow drip.

The drains on my tank are about 4' returns are around 5' but do run through big UVs......

I don't see any bulkhead fittings? Are you using uni seals on the blue drums? Have you leak tested them?

I glue all pvc except stuff with threads. Threads get silicone.

So...in tbe tankis a hole, you put a threaded PVC bulkhead in tbe hole, and now you're asking if you need to cement the pipe into the bulkhead, right?

If so, yes you glue the pipe into the bulkhead with tbe right PVC cement for the pipe and fitting your gluing.
