Currently restocking my 55 gal. Wondering what fish might be best. My oscar recently died and the only other fish left is my 8 in pleco. A couple days ago i threw 7 common guppies (male) in there to add a lil color n keep things clean till i get it restocked. Would like to have some-sort of freshwater eel... Any suggestions???

Polys are very cool looking fish! def will keep tht at the top of my list! i will look them up but r there any special things to look out for when dealin with these guys?
peacocks are very cool but by the looks of them i think they will get too big for my aquarium. thanks for the reply tho!
why not bichir or snakehead if you like eel looking things, if you haven't givin up on cichlid's try Green Terror's, I like them alot more than Oscar's I've kept.
Why not snakeheads? Cause they're illegal in the US. I'll throw in another vote for polys though. Sens or delhezi would fit your tank. Be careful with the pleco though as they might possibly try to eat a bichir's slime coat
i have a 75g, basically same as your 55 just a little deeper. i have a 7" senegal bichir (poly) and a black ghost knife... i'll be adding a delhezi in a couple months...
i'd get rid of the pleco... unless you have an algae problem or a lot of excess food in your tank, they aren't really necessary (unless you want them of course, they are poop machines). i recently got rid of my 3" common pleco cause his poop was really showing up on my white sand. even at 3" it was a constant cleaning job... vacuming every 2-3 days
check out black ghost knife or african brown knifes... very cool fish. and they get along with polys so you could keep both
