Wow they do look like piranhas but i cant change my stocking ideas now so the fish im getting is final but one thing i could change is the aquascape if any of you have some great aquascapes that would be good for the fish im getting could you post it plz??
Sounds good, I’m big on monster alternatives and there’s almost alway something smaller that is similar to something much bigger. As far as scaping, that’s all personal preference. For my Africa cichlid tank, I watched lake Malawi scuba vids and copied what I saw. My mini monster tank I just did some rock and driftwood with a few artificial plants. Lighting can be cool to mess with too, if you get a cheap reef bulb and a gooseneck fixture, you get a good shimmer and it looks like the sun shining through a forest canopy. Here’s an example ( just did a water change, so excuse the cloudiness). I used two Chinese reef lights, one bright and blue to get that effect.

Yes im getting 1 stripped Raphael,1 bumblebee jelly cat, 6 albino corys, 3 imitator catfish, 1 koi betta fish for a few months then its getting its own aquarium, and then in a few months when DwarfCichlidLvr DwarfCichlidLvr produces his dwarf cichlids ima buy some of the babies.
IMO a raphael gets too big for a 30. A 55 min for them. Although if you upgraded soon enough you'd be fine. What's the scientific name for the bee jelly cat? Do you mean Brachyrhamdia meesi as the imitator cat? I think that would be overstocking if you but everything in a 30. I wouldn't keep them all in a 30 for more then like 4 months.

ok. From my research the jelly cat may become a problem. So choose wisely.

I know about the jelly cat it may try eat anything it can fit in its mouth but if everything is coming around the same size then it will be fine also the jelly cat and the Raphael are both the only slow growing fish in my stocking plan

O k a y. Im most concerned about the corys. But if you know what you're doing then you should be good. :)

Why not upgrade to a 75 instead off 55 Their both 4 foot tanks and are similar priced but the 75 is 6” wider and makes a big difference even tho it doesn’t sound like it
