55 gallon non-semi aggressive tank

I don't think apistos or neons would be a good option, both will be food or just killed by the EBJD or Angels. I agree kribs would be a good fit along with a bristlenose pleco.

My angels are 3/4" of an inch in diameter. Even if my angels were full grown there is no way they could fit a 2"+ aspito in their mouths. Also my EBJD is under 2" so if i got apistos I would get them at 1.5" plus and the EBJD would grow with them and the chances of him eating the apistos would be slim.

Also EBJDs are not as aggressive as their reputation so I doubt they would eat any other fish unless it was something that could be eaten in 2 bites or less.
 
just like my 55! One EBJD, 4 angels, but with 2 geo altifrons and 2 yo yo loaches.

Yeah, mine are kois though. In the long run I don't think I'm going to like the contrast. Should have gotten black veils or wild type angels.

And the geos are starting to beat on them.
 
How about giant danios? Mine nip at each other sometimes, but they should be fast/tough enough to live with your EBJD even if they piss him off.

I like danios but I really want to keep the tank CA/SA. Thanks for the suggestion thou.
 
So I ended up going with the Apistos. I got 2 Apistogramma Atahualpa, and 1 Apistogramma Cacatuoides. I also took out 1/4 of the gravel and put in aquatic soil. Took my plants out of the pots and planted them into the soil. So on the bottom of my 4' tank I have 3' of gravel and a 1' of aquatic soil that is kind of like a garden at the end of the tank. I then bought some anubis, and made the rookie mistake of buying "Aquatic ferns" boy do I feel ripped off! I will take the "aquatic fern" out and replace it with Java ferns and maybe some more anubis.

It's the logo for the Blue lantern corp. I am a huge comic book nerd and the Green lantern books are my absolute favorite. So when I decided to get an EBJD I couldn't help but go with the Blue Lantern theme.
