what kind of filter are you runnin.. if its a hob you can just put the filter pad from the 5 gallon directly in front of the exisiting one.. that way the bacteria can have direct contact with the new media..

just feed the goldfish regular amounts..
 
Hey guys, after 10 days my water readings are this: PH 7.6, Alka 120, Hardness 55, Nitrite 1.0, Nitrate 20, Ammonia 3. Just checking with the pro's but am I heading in the right directions?
