Hey guys! I'm new to SA Cichlids. I wonder can I keep 1 Jack Dempsey, Green terror and a Texas in a 55 gallon tank? I have a 500l/h filter. If I can't.. can I atleast keep one of them?

My opinion is a Herichthys cyanoguttatus and the JD will out grow a 55 in less than a year (if bought young), and will kill one or the other, in such small tank. A 55 is a grow out tank, not a true community tank, as far as cichlids go
A full grown JD at 10" needs a minimum 100 gal (to be in a community(a more than 1 species tank).
And a full grown Texas needs the same.
To me, any cichlid over 5" needs a much larger tank.
My rule for myself is, for every 1" of adult, you need "minimum" 10 gallons.
Below is the kind of space they live in, in nature.

and one other minor detail, JDs and Texas cichlids are "not" South American cichlids, they are both from North America.

Is there any species i can keep for live in their that will hunt on small fish

How small fish are you talking about? And you want them to hunt live fish or not hunt live fish?

From South America,

apistogramma
dwarf pikes (e.g. crenicichla regain, compressiceps)
Microgeophagus: (e.g. bolivian rams)
Laetacara curviceps
