don't be surprised if the Barbs start to dissappear. I've tried a similar set up and once the cichlids get the taste of them, they're food. But they should last a while
how long can I keep these fish in a 35 gallon until I need to upgrade to the 55? I already have the con and I wouldn't say it's any bigger than an inch.
The reason I ask is because I don't have enought money for the 55 right now. I think I'm going to return the fish I have to the LFS and get a Texas with it the store credit I get. Then when I get a job pay for the 55 gallon.
Why are do you say that? I realize that when most people say that they will upgrade when the time comes they will, but I already have the 35 set up and will get the 55 when I have the money. It won't be too long...
The whole story is that I have been planing on getting a 75 gallon for about a year but with situations with my family and other things havn't gotten around to it. But now I compromised with my parents and they are letting me get a 55. So I will get the tank, no question.
nice yea you should be fine no harm done with my previous statement
i know how it is with parents, its always a struggle to get another tank no matter how good the deal is or how much you need it
i would say just go with a texas, with some bn plecos
Just a tex or a tex with the the con? and I'm not a huge fan of BN Plecos. I have one and only actually see him doing anything once in a blue moon. I still have to clean the sides of the tank. So I would like a cooler looking catfish (or other kind of tank mate).
