i think you'll end up having to upgrade long before a year, koi and goldfish can grow incredibly fast.

Thats fine, I can go buy a 210g+ today if I need. I just don't see the need, when they'll be so small to start. Once they start getting bigger, I can shop around, or find a deal in the mean time.

dude think bigger is better and a 210 is still to small for koi

This is what you should do. If you have a house with a backyard, dig a nice 3 foot deep hole, 8 x 10 feet, get a rubber liner, a pump and some hoses, and a strong rigid plastic box (to construct a biofilter). Create a mini garden pond, let it cycle for a month and few weeks, add koi!! It is well worth it. then you can use your 55 gallon to raise small koi and power feed for your pond. That is what i am doing with my ten gallon. Buying cheap koi at petstores, and raise them up for outdoors. (ALL MY NICE PLATINUM and WHITE KOI DISSAPEARED EARLY FALL :irked: (about 5-7 inches), darn birds or racoons).

keeping plecos with any type of godfish/koi doesnt work well.. my father has had plecos actually kill those types of fish.... the slow moving golds dont even do well with regular type.... they are supposed to be in community tanks as a species or the larger of the fish..... koi are only kept with koi..... dont do plecos with any of theese fish theres no need... run an ammonia/phosphate absorbant type setup with a good amount of charcoal theese fish give a lot of waste do a good amount of water changes and monitor your lighting to suit theese fish

Fancy goldfish: Might be picked on by pleco.

Normal Goldfish: Once they grow up, they will leave no food for the pleco. Trust me on this.

Koi might harass goldfish; not a good idea.

This is true, well for any big fish vs a pleco. I had to build the plecos driftwood house with rocks and plants around the entrance to keep the fish out. The orange oranda is my worst enemy as he tries SO HARD to get at his food. I also have to manually feed the pleco with a copper tube into his house. Tank size is a factor to.

If plecos are feed correctly they usually have no need for sucking on the fish. If you were stuck on a mountain your buddy would look delicious to!

I haven't heard of plecos going after goldfish but keeping goldfish and the koi is fine. Just make sure that the Black Moor is getting some of the food to. Since the koi are much faster and overbearing then the Black Moor
