55gal Stand and tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Even though it's off our main thread topic I have to state you have no idea what your doing putting an Arowana in a 55 gallon tank... Bring it back to whoever sold it to you and do the research before stocking your tank with species that grow much too big for it.

"14 year old MFK'ER"

Yeah. That doesn't surprise me when I see an Arowana in a 55 gallon tank. *sigh*

I don't want to take any sides in that little brawl but i believe that down the road, the aro will become unhappy in the tank. My advice would be to bring him back but that is just my opinion. NOW back to the main topic (attention on me not him!!! lol) I really like the look of the Mbuna but i believe that the FS only has ass. Cichlids that are this size, they have 6 inch ones for like $25 but at 15 years old, i am not ready to spend that much on a fish. (well at least one that i can get for $5 and grow out) I have got plenty of time. I am not sure how big the ones they have for $5 are but how much bigger can i go from the original ones that i have right now (about 1-1.5in) before i have a major aggression problem? Sorry i have been lazy and haven't uploaded any pictures latley but later tonight i will try to post a video and some pictures. (BTW, today when feeding the 20gal, i got my Angel to eat flakes out of my hand, i was pretty happy)

Could i put my angel in the 55 or would he get torn to shreds, he is fine in the 20 it is just that he would be happier i believe with more space (unless he would be getting bullied)

You're housing an Arowana in a 55 gallon. I don't need to say anymore. Ban yourself from fishkeeping. Seriously.

As far as the stock list goes for your Africans Earthswater, I'm not farmilar with stocking african tanks so I wouldn't be too much help in that department. I will say if you can get mbuna for 5$ smaller then definitely just do that and grow them out. There's no rush. Besides, it's more fun to watch them grow. :)

So how many africans could i happily house along with the clown loach and pleco. Could i get 2-3 more clowns if i can find them (really hard to find around here) Also, any answers to the Angel question?

I don't see a problem with an Angel Fish holding it's own in a community african cichlid tank.

really, i would have thought that the cichlids would have torn it to shreds because it is a slow moving fish with long wavy fins. Any one have any experience with this. I don't really want my Angel to be the guinea pig so to speak
