Where abouts in NC are you located? If you are close to Charlotte you could try Fintastic. Check out their website. I believe they do special orders also. Good luck!!

I must say since being introduced to the larger cichlids I LOVE Green terrors, Right now I have a gold saum, or atleast I think I do, and I love the little fella very active eats a bunch, haven't seen aggression yet though I put some fish in his tank for temporary holding, they're awesome fish and look awesome, however from what i've been told and read 55g standard footprint is too narrow for them if you can try to get a tank with a bit wider of a footprint, my personal favorites are 36x18x18 or 36lx28dx24h[favorite] and of course 48x24x24, though the last might be too big for what you're looking to do.

chichlids4me, I'm about an hour north of Charlotte so I will definately check out Fintastic.

You're close enough to Jeff Rapps that ordering through him would be pretty cheap shipping wise. And I know he's got some A. Lyonsi.

I will be sure to check out his site. With an A. Lyonsi, would a pleco be too much for the tank to sustain?

Fintastic was a pretty good store. Is Asian Tropical Fish II still open? Somewhere near uptown? They had a really good selection. If there still open you may want to hit them as well when you go down to Fintastic.

Depends on your filtration. I'd say it would be ok, though. Just make sure you don't get a common pleco (they get 3 feet long, and a pet shop won't tell you that).

Pleco's are detritus factories. What about some clown loaches or pictus cats?
