haha im walking out of my bedroom and i saw something brown on the ground right in fornt of my little tank, and im assuming its a rock/piece of paper/string/whatever and i would have totally stepped on it and then it darted under my tank and im like wtf lol anyways, had some extra lace rock next to the tank and one quick smash worked well ;)
edit: oh and it was pretty fair sized, id say 2" ish

sweet.

My mate uses monochrome for the moon, otherwise it seems to pick up on the red spectrum with the other settings, giving it an orange tint. Although whats nuts, is when he calls me over, zooms to the edge of the moon, where clear as day and feels like you can reach out & touch it, the crater rims & valleys show.

Mars is red in color, I think that was Venus. Who cares, great pic! Did you need a tripod to get those night shots?
haha that may be the case im not exactly sure! and i could have definately used a tripod, i was trying to handhold with 1/2s shutterspeed lol

Its not a black & white photo, cause there is a setting for that. I believe its more along the lines of "Shades of Grey" Dont quote me though, Im a point & shoot photographer currently, (irony considering my family is linked to the big hitters in the advertising industry down here) so once I finally get off my @ss and invest in my own Vspec Nikon, i'll be following the same manual learning curve as you have done.

I'm bringing this thread back to life!!!

Been reading every single post. I learned alot.

Loving every picture also.

I'm picking up my first DSLR on the weekend. Getting either a D90 or D7000. I've been around cameras for a while but I never owned a DSLR until now that I can afford one.

I'm also making this a hobby for me. Love taking pictures, that's why I decided to get a good camera the first time.

Ordered a SB-900.

I need lens recommendations.

I want one for portrait.

One for landscape, (wide angle???)

Zoom for the zoo... like a 18-200mm I think.

Thanks.. oh and this thread is awsome!!
