woo, easy, just because D&D was closed today doesn't mean you should lash out on everyone else.

Sorry not follwoing the 12y.o. little kid termology, but was is D&D?

D&D-Dunkin' donuts. what the hell are you doing here anyway? stop derailing this thread...

Your the one bringing donuts into this thread. Not derailing, only responding directly to your posts. If you don't want to risk taking criticism of your tank, then don't post pics of it. Most people don't care much for colored gravel as it looks really poor.

BTW no Dunkin donuts here in Colorado, Krispy kreme sucks. The local bakery was open and the donuts were great, that is until I threw them up after viewing the pics of your tank.

if you call that criticism, fair enough. but if I posted something like that on your threads, it would get deleted.

@Pole... Ulitmately what matters is whether you are happy with the outcome. As to the light, I've no experience with leds and plants (it is led isnt it?) All you can do is experiment and worse case scenario you go with java fern and other low light species.

@bderick... You are 100% right, any time someone posts a picture on here they are inviting the opinions of others. However, if one feels the need to act on or comment based on their opinions, there is nothing to say it can't be done in a constructive manner. Didn't you just pass comment in another thread about someone berating rather than helping? In a previous thread, pole stated he would rather have sand but was not allowed. We were all 12 at some point and I'm sure we can relate. As to his alternative pick? All tastes are different and I have to agree with pole, that if, for example, I aired my true feelings about certain things in such a blunt/rude/inconsiderate manner, it would likely not go down too well.

There is no reference to why he didn't use sand in this thread. Though natural gravel would be a nice alternative to sand, but who cares it's not whats pictured. One can only reply on the pics posted. Sorry if I don't sugar coat my comments, I stand behind what I say. If one cannot deal with it, there is always the "ignore" feature provided by this forum. Personally I believe the "kiss butt" comments are much more harmful when the OP is doing something wrong or posting something that looks horrible.

That comment had more to do with MattyA's comments about only trying to help the OP, which he wasn't. Not whether or not the OP should or shouldn't have been berated, which the OP more then deserved.

Ok, fine, you don't like the gravel, we can see that very easily, no need to say more. The gravel is around 25-35% natural with the rest being white, thought it would make a nice mixture.

Looking horrible is down to personal opinion. If pole wasnt happy with it he wouldn't have posted it. The not sugar coating of things is all well and good when dealing with adults. But pole is 12, have a heart. I don't have kids, but if I did and someone publicly ridiculed their efforts I'd be a little disappointed in human nature. I'm sure I'm not alone. Why not just say that natural gravel, in your opinion, would look better? Why not just say nothing at all? There was no need for, and nothing was gained from your comment.

Well I do have kids. What I would not allow my kids to do, would be to come on here and post mis-information on subjects they know nothing about. Nor give advice in matters they have no experience in. They would however understand that not everyone is going to agree with them or like what they do. The world is harsh, if your gonna participate then be able to cope with it.

what the hell has this got to do with my tank? I never said I can't cope with criticism. the world is of course harsh, but the ones with the red names say feed back must be in a constructive manner. enough of that bull plop, lets get back onto the tank.
