Seems like the transhippers over there have no place in the business. Maybee the diaper box helped them get through customs haha. But congrats on being probably the only SRT owner in Scotland. They are looking mighty good. Cant wait to see some babies

am just swapping my fry over to a tank of there own tmorw, and putting my male jag in with a female rd to see if they want to get jiggy lol, i will give you a bit of a back ground story, i put the red devil in to get jiggy with my male flowerhorn and the paird but nothing ever came for it. but the red devil and jag had the hots for eachother. but the flowerhorn wouldnt have it! so gunna try in same tank with divider.

shouldnt be too long until they get down too business ;D

Well good news since the male tex was being upright between the 2 filters all day thought it be a perfect opportunity to drop some raw mussles in garlic straight into his mooth D All he had to do was open and volla .. he took some food!!

Actually he swallowed a good 5 pieces and it was probably the most laziest feeding i ever saw yet most satisfying ;D

Hes now came out from between the filters and back to his original cave so all n al good signs!! D

Once he settles down abit more gonna take some fish out to the 2 other 35g and take out that big clumsy built in juwel filter ..! Should give them some extra room ... looking at the 125g now it looks cramped already!!

Im seeing a 7ftx3x2 in my crystal ball muahahaha ;D

6x3x2 and i want bigger. Ive only been fishkeeping for just over 2 years now.
my uncle got me into the hobby, hes chinese and uno waht there like with there fish lol.

good that the male tex is doin alright. he is a cracker and the female is a stunner too. i have put my rd and jag in the tank in me bedroom with a devider so if they want to start ww3 they cnt lol. put all the fish from upstairs in the 6x3x2 setup. these are 3 convits, 1 jade eye, 1 syn, 1 green tex, 1 tex x syn and a low grade flowergorn. before all of this i had to get all the fry into a 2x1x1 haha.

i am just gttn my head round another fish. i think im gunna get it off the aquarist classifieds. its a big female green tex. she is so sweet.

it was all a bit manic yesterday lol

Just an update on Srt breeders:

SRT female is doing great!! DD Extremly active but not aggresive to my other smaller fish at all ) Canny believe how much she eats in 1 setting ... she eats a ton of hikari+nls pellets and the other fish dont stand much of a chance of getting any LOL

She still wont touch frozen or raw seafood but shouldnt be too long ;D


A'right onto the bad news about the male green tex....


He hasnt eaten in 10 days and is looking really thin, dull colouring and is still constantly skittish and is always hiding ((

Been over a week since i dosed the tank for internal parasites with wormerplus and he still wont go near any food. Have tried all pellets, raw frozen seafood king prawns, mussles, squid, brine shrimp, mysis, bloodworms, lance fish, baby cray and more. Did the garlic soak for them as well but nae luck :/

His belly is becomming more sunken and even worst he has started to become infected with whitespots on his tail fin!!! ((


None of me fish has ever had whitespot so most likely down to him not eating and stress from the much failed transhipping etc


Coincidently i had already increased temp slowly over the last week from 26-30oC too try get his metabolism going. Guess its time too add some Api aquarium salt for the ich... hopefully he gets through it ok and starts eating .. boy o boy, you need to eat son!!

Yes i do know .. my uncles Chinese too And yes they are awesome with their fish ... been too Hong Kong before and to that famous fish street(forgot the name) where all the shops in the whole street or 3 are all fish shops XDDDD Awesome variety but shame about the overcrowdness!! Just wish over here we had similar variety and overabundance


So how is the new setups been doing?? Is the Jag and Rd still in love ?? ;DD

to be honest i am happy with the size of my tank now uno, jsut want more haha.

since the the last time i spoke to you, i have swapped all my fish over, the jag and red in the tank upstairs, the 3 convicts, 1 flowerhorn, 3 tex x syn, 1 jade eye, 1 green tex and 1 syn in the big tank and the fry in a grow out tank. only got abt 11 fry left now but i think all of these are gunna survive now. touch wood.

by now though the flowerhorn and the tex x syn (not one out of the breeding pair) has paired up wid the floerhorn. they are digging and shaking like mad, the parents of the fryi have now are digging for thr new bach they are due to lay and the breeding pair of convicts are digging thier area. about the rd and jag they are lip locking and the jag ended up backing down. so that was it the female red just trys to bully him now. so got a perm divider up to slit them to see if it owrks that way. i had high hopes though because when i first put the jag in the rd was all nice with him! she is bigger than hi. that might be the problem.

the green tex i have is a female i suspet. it has the black on dirsal finn so that wat am going off. lol hope your male green tedx is ok!
