Ok, nevermind on putting this guy with the ATF. I was considering that he may go in my 180, but I'm worried most about the Odoe - that guy is a D!CK. If the Scomb isn't particularly aggressive, he'll probably get the crap kicked out of him. Think it's worth a $60 risk, or should I let this pass?

If you wouldn't be terribly upset about it if the odoe did go nuts on him, I'd chance him in the 180. Who knows, I've heard about some fairly aggressive scombs, at least they are fast swimmers to my knowledge. He should be able to avoid the odoe, but it's definitely not a 100% given. They are cool, and if you've always wanted one, $60 isn't a steep entry price. I personally wouldn't chance him with the ATF yet, not until the ATF was a lot bigger (they just don't have any mass to them at that size, so I'm pretty certain a scomb could eat one without struggling too bad). It's your call, but I'd probably do it (you obviously know your odoe and other fish much better than I do, though).

i would pass. IMO, what the point of the scomb killing the ATF and then dying in a few months from the SDS? just my point of view.

I suppose I shall let this one go. I need to focus on my ATF anyway. Should be moving him into his next home in the next week or so once the tank has seasoned for a while.

If any of you NOVA, DC, MD guys are interested, this guy has some cool stuff for sale aside from the payara. Just search craigslist for "saber tooth tetra" and you'll find him.

Thank for the input everyone. It's always appreciated.

I thought scombs had a yellowish or goldish color rather then silver and black.

damnit Max! You're pushing me back to the Dark Side here.

Ok, I have one more tank: my 120 long (18" deep x 60" long x 24" high) - In this tank I have my 12-14" silver aro, 10+" sen. bichir, 6" golden knife, and 6" brown knife..... Could he make it in here? My main concern is my bichir. I really care about that fish, so I try never to put it with things that may hurt it.
