Hi, i'm new here. ive been lurking for long enough i guess, time to ask some questions and post some stuff lol.

Well I just got a 60 gal acrylic tank, with a nice big canister filter. What to put in it..hmmm. I have a 55 gal full of africans and I wanted to go to south/central americans.

Sooooo...I'm going to start setting up and cycling tonight!! I'm looking at getting:

1 green terror
1 senegal bichir
1 catfish (haven't decided yet...)
And then I was thinking of getting some dithers to just liven up the tank and make everyone feel at home. Australian rainbows maybe? Giant danios? I'm not sure..just throwing options around.

So what do you veterans think? Will this setup work? What dithers can I use? Any suggestions at all are totally welcome :)

ehh im not sure of the dimensions atm..i know it's a 60 long though. but what do you think i could do for dithers?

the green terror is going to be a pain in the butt unless you luck out... there is a reason their name has terror in it

Hmmm...i'd do something else like a texas or a severum instead. I'm not really locked into one fish. Basically I want some sort of large cichlid, a catfish that gets along with said cichlid, a bichir and some dithers.

I wish iridescent sharks didn't get so big...i don't think one would be too happy in my 60 gal for long. Any other catfish suggestions?

A Raphael catfish, Platydoras armatulus is a nice looking fish and will not out grow your tank. I'm not crazy about a 60 for a GT long term.

switch to a blue acara instead of the Gt, similar appearance with less aggression...will also allow for more tankmate possibilities
