Sun Cats do hide a lot! I bought one at just a few inches. I didn't notice it in the tank after a few days and just considered it taken as food by the bigger fish. Months went buy without a sight of the Sun Cat. Then one night during a hurricane and power outage, my family was sitting in the living room under candlelight. That's when I noticed this big, strange fish poking its head out of a hallow tree ornament. The Sun Cat was nipping at all of the other fish. The sight of the big cat explained some other fish that had disappeared from my tank. It was cool to see that it had survived and grown immensely but not cool to see it trying to eat my other fish. I gave it to my friend and he threw it in his pond with his other cats.OddBallKeeper;4972417;4972417 said:Well Sun Cats Hide all the time when the lights are on and eat all small fish when they are off. Sun Cats grow up to 12" and my 5'' ate my 2'' Mbuna Cichlid. So I would'nt go with Sun Cats. I have a pair myself and they are always hiding!
