Hello, I have a cycled 60 gallon tank that I recently stocked. I have a endlicheri bichir who is the star of the tank. He is currently about 4 inches. I also have 2 goby knights, 1 gold algae eater, 1 goldfish, and 2 koi angelfish. My LFS told me to feed the tank 2 cubes of frozen bloodworms every other day. Is that acceptable?

Add some pellets too! They'll help a lot for nutrition

Also, is the 60 a permanent home for the endli?

I was thinking of adding pellets but I didn't want to overfeed so I wasn't sure how much/often to feed the tank. If I did 1 cube + pellets every other day would that suffice?

The 60 gallon is the only tank I have right now.

Depends on how fast they eat what you are giving. If they have consumed what you are feeding in less then 2 minutes then feed some more.
Also the endli will quickly out grow that tank and his mates.

How long do I have? Are any of those decent tank mates? If not, any suggestions on what kind of fish do make good tank mates?

well the goldfish is on the wrong side of the temperature spectrum for the bichir, goldfish like cooler water while bichirs like 78-82. The endl will grow at least 1" a month. You can also buy tilapia from walmart and cut it into small enough pieces that he can eat them and he will go nuts for it

Honestly....? I dont know. You'll get alot of different stories on what you can and cant put with endli or other lower jaw type polys. Or any poly really lower or upper jaw. With any predator you need to understand that if it may possibly fit in their mouth it may get there. Someone just had his lj eat most of its tank mates aside from the other polys, someone else lost $160 in cichlids to a poly they're on this forum so it shouldn't be to hard to find. While others say they've never lost a fish to their polys.

I'll say this....predatory fish are opportunistic. If they arent fed enough then stuff may start to disappear. I keep mine well fed it didnt stop one of my delhezi from trying to eat a synodontis.

CB endli do not grow that fast. Even then they slow down incredibly as they age. You have allot of time before it outgrows the tank.

What are the dimensions of the tank ?

Polys are not Savage beasts lmaooo no need to worry they are the same as any cat, carnivorous cichlid, or charchin. biggest difference is the POLYS are much calmer
