Bloodworms aren't very nutritious for a staple food, so as mentioned try a variety of pellets and some frozen tilapia.

Don't goldfish like cool water? I know polys don't....
I used to think that too. Actually goldfish are good in a lot of temp ranges but mid 70s is best. So they can easily live with our polys. You need a ton of biological filtration for goldfish as they make a lot of ammonia. They need to eat more often also, smaller more frequent meals is best for goldfish they don't have stomachs so food in smaller amounts is best for them. Those reasons may not be good for keeping them together. If you have adequate surface agitation/oxygenation and large filtration you should be fine. Im sure 1 goldfish wont really effect your polys it just might not be ideal for the goldfish. Goldfish also live by the rule of if it fits in my mouth its food so if the goldfish is one that gets big and there is enough room for it to grow and not get stunted and die it will probably eat your small fish.
