Is the L going to be inside of the boiler room?

Only the smallest 24" wide part of the L. There will be a door to access the laundry room so that whole are will still be visible from the inside. Since the tank will be in wall, I also wanna frame the side that will be 36 x 36 to be visible in wall like the 84 x 36 front.

More progress was achieved yesterday on the stand. It's officially being powdercoated as we speak. Should get it back tomorrow.

The stand and legs came back from the powdercoat shop today and went downstairs to my basement. It was quite a journey to get it downstairs and what was a two piece stand became a three piece. I miscalculated and underestimated how big this thing is and the awkward shape of the L. lol. No problem, some more welding will be done tomorrow in order to finish her up in the basement once and for all.

More progress was achieved today. The stand was set at its final location and the sump was placed underneath. I still have to adjust the legs and play with it a little bit to level this thing out. It takes a while because it's so freaking heavy and hard to maneuver. I would estimate this stand weights around 400-450 lbs but I could be wrong.

I still have to sort some things out here. I had to stop the tank build for a few days because my basement is also being build at the same time and the amount of drywall dust there was unreal.
I already called a few glass suppliers yesterday but prices are to the roof ( and I need a lot of it) so being patient will pay off at the end as I could save some money on the glass if/ when I find the right place to go with.

So I’m not a professional welder. I’ve only repaired sheet metal in cars and I’m only trying to learn more about metal stands. Are the open legs touching the floor going to be sturdy enough to support this tank alone? Or will you be adding a brace around the perimeter?

How did you get the sump in there? Will you be able to pull it out in case of emergency?
