6ft x 3ft x 2.5ft - 5 aros and 3 rays? is this ok?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Currently I am running a 96 x 36 x 30" tank (24" longer then the proposed tank) housing four south american arowana 27-30" long. This tank is crowded, was much better suited for just three arowana. So trying to house 5 of these monsters in a tank 3/4 the size of mine is crazy, actually the 6 foot is too short to house any aro over 24". Can't really comment on the rays, though 2 does not sound bad, no experience myself.

With the stock said they would need atleast 1000g to keep healthy fish. Anything under 8'x4' is too small for even one adult silver aro.

Really, what brings you to this opinion? Do you keep an adult silver?

Is this going to be your final tank for these ? or will you go bigger when required ? it could work for a few months but after that imo you need a larger tank.

as you stated this is an OPINION -.- stop being so stuck up a fish that gets to around 3ft shouldnt have to have its face smush into the glass with its tails bending to turn

I agree. Don't listen to anything he says hes just a huge hater and from reading this thread a self proclaimed hipocryte who can't STAND to hear anyone elses opinion. He also prides himself on going to a personal level and calling people "children" because it makes himself feel BIG and hes the ultimate key-board-warrior cyber playground bully you'll find on here. Zero helpful information just a wordclass flame artist.

That being said. I think Its too small for 5 arowanas. 2-3 would probably be cramped but It'd be fine for a while especially with a 3 ft. width.
