You can buy nitrate removal resin balls online and put them in media bags in your filters, seachem make a similar product, both need periodically removing and recharging either via gassing of in salty water or using bleach.
Besides it's not just nitrates, you need to consider build up of fish hormones and minerals in water changes...
Can't escape water changes tbh.
But u can get around them with drip systems

I guess it depends on your definitions of a water change. If you mean you stop your system, remove water, then add water, then yes, a drip system avoids that.

If you mean replacing tank water with fresh water, then a drip system is a water change.

In either event, the tank water has to be removed and replenished, and the larger the bio load, the larger and / or more frequent the changes have to be. This is, of course, a lifestyle issue to some. A 50% WC per week for some people is the most that they can or will handle, while others will do 75% per day, if needed.

Ya %50 is a lot for me sometime considering I have like 6 tanks I usually do the bigger one's twice a week just because they have a lot more fish in them that are on the larger side
