Looking amazing! keep up the good work.. and I don't even wanna know how much we've spent on just live food for our gar... but it really does make a huge difference. I would def keep trying floating foods in particular at night even if they don't take them right away. should help build a routine for them and get them eating pellets sooner then later and cut food costs for you. I found useing pellets best as the "feeders" would eat any uneaten pellets themselves and essentially stay "gut-loaded" for our gar, and little to none was left to rot in the tank ( simply scooped/syphoned any out during water changes.)

btw expect abit of fin shredding as they get older and develop a pecking order. like most predetory fish they will cannibalize any stunted/significantly smaller fish, but ime they develop pack-like heirarchys when kept together long-term... no visible aggression a majority of the time, but every now and then the dominant fish gets tested, fins get nipped sometimes shredded. As long as it's not consistant i found leaving them together worked best.

Thanks for the replies.
Amy,
A friend of mine gave me a bag (around 30) of unwanted small albino nigrofasciatus and I put them there. The nigros are always in a pack nearby a small piece of driftwood and I haven´t seen their number decreasing (at least significantly) in the last 3 days. I also see 1 pearl danio of the original batch of 40 (of the 4 that had escaped to the sump and I put back in the tank) still swimming around.
So, either (1) they´re still full of neons and aren´t hungry enough, (2) started trying the floating pellets (I put a few every night) or (3) simply aren´t eating (less likely because they look plumpy)
Let´s see what happens in the next few days.
I´ll keep this journal updated

Update

I counted the nigros (convicts) yesterday and only saw 12. All the other feeders I had in the tank (danio, some neons and a few minows I got in the meanwhile) are also inside their bellys.

In the meanwhile I noticed that 6 of the 7 are looking really good but the oher (one of the 2 smaller ones) is falling behind and looking thin.

Great jon you arde doing, Joao!

Pull the smallest one out of there if it continues to fall behind; they may eat it if it ends up being much smaller than the rest.

Thanks for the tip.
At the moment the lenght difference isn´t significant: the biggest should be aroud 6" and the small one 3-4". But the girth difference is noticeable.

have you tried feeding him seperately to watch him eat? or after the others have eaten put food near him?

They are on feeders so the food is "all around" him.
I didn´t want to separate him from the others yet, but it may be the option if the situation doesn´t change
