hi guys I always wanted a monster tank and thought this might be the way to do it. there isn't room to have both an entertainment area and a monster Aquarium so why not combine them. let me know what you think and then I will go from there

omg that is sicker than the birdcage fishtank!!!

This might be a serious distraction.. I already watch a tank instead of a movie if theres one near the TV..

yeah but that way me and the wife each get what we want. I am considering making a set of blinds that can cover over the viewing windows in the event of watching a movie and wanting the extra darkness. I guess I could just shut the lights off but I don't like messing with the schedules on the lighting in the tanks

could be a fire hazard if some fish splash water on the TV, or something like that.

Interesting idea.

You answered my first concern....

Flat screen would work wonders, I would also be concerned about moisture.

Yes, and there is the age old problem of upgrading your TV.. Unless you plan to have it for a very long time. I think flatscreen is the best way to go(Ohhh tank space!), but then it seems like you should just hang it on the wall somewhere. Moister could be an issue, but I think you could design around this.

By the way, I think this is an awesome idea, just trying to think of everything.

Just build a HUGE tank, and put a projector in the room :P
Pull down the projector screen infront of the tank when its time to watch a movie.

I got a 480p projector for $280 last year. It is awesome. If you want real high def its only like $1,000. (6ft + screen)

I considered doing a projector and screen the Issue there is my fiance is home all day and likes to have the TV on while she is taking care of the household duties. she likes the big tank as well but also doesn't want it to be covering nearly the entire wall. what the pic doesn't show is there will be a canopy on the top of the tank. Some things that aren't on here I plan on making the sump as part of the stand. I haven't completely figured out how I plan on building that part.
