700Gallon Build(after my Wedding)

Thats a great Idea. I had a similar one a little while ago.... when the money comes....

So, depending on how hardcore into this you want to get (and how big your budget is), i would build a big tank and all that jazz... have the stand extend in front of the tank front and put a flat screen IN the stand.. attach to some linear actuators in there and with the press of a button your tv will raise out of the stand... haven't really looked too indepth at how much space TV raisers take up or how much they cost... but i'm sure if you watch enough MacGyver you could figure it out.

somethign like this is what i'm picturing, ffound this with the google.

I wouldn't put the tv in the middle, I'd put it at the end. Just don't make the tank so long.

Well the weddings now off but I still want this tank. I want a mammoth tank but I have a small house. its only 1000 square feet. I want monster fish but I need it to be functional so thats why I came up with this Idea. I think I am going to go ahead with this once I get all the debt cleared from the Wedding that never happened. so the frame for the stand will be metal as I have a friend who is a welder and has volunteered to help. his wife is scared of fish so he lives vicareously through me. once the stand is built then we will move onto the tank. I want this to look natural and fit in with the house. the cabinetry will be solid oak and the tank will be skinned with oak. I am not into finished carpentry so I am going to get my StepDad to comeout and help me with the final woodwork as thats what he does for a living. so for now its a slow process until I can get the construction started.

Probably safer not to ask what happened on the wedding front but as for the tank idea is the tv still going into it?

looks nice

i like the idea of combining the 2 things. however, i tend to think on the safe side, and last time i checked water and electricity do not mix.

itis true water and electricity don't mix but heres what I'm thinking how is this any different than all the elctrical units we already have plugged in right beside our tanks? at present my TV sits between a 150G tank and a 55G tankthere are all the pumps and whatnot plugged in right below. the plugs omn that wall are all GFCI. the diffence is right now all the stereo equipment is exposed so if anything splashes it could get wet. its remote as there are lids on the tanks but its still there. in my plan there will be a crown molding (pic doesn't show it as paint sucks) and the tank will have a lid. my plan is to set it up so all the adding and removing of water is done through drains in the bottom. as well as the sump being below. the stereo equipment will get moved to a stand to be built that will sit beside the Aquarium under the window on that wall. right now I am gonna move in my pond into the bedroom and get it all setup.

Great idea, but I think the smart move is keeping the tv on the wall away from the tank (not what you want, but.... safety first)
