If its all inside the filter area and away from the fish i dont see what theyd hurt and honestly the amount that i see probably wont change the ph noticeably

Ok I tried my best and I got most of it off minus the section in the filter which has quite a lot but I think some counter buffers might help lower the pH. Now there’s a bunch of debris leftover that I can’t get out. I don’t have access to a shop bac and I can’t hose it outside so I’m kind of stuck. Would setting up a sump help remove all the debris stuck in the filter instead?

I would say maybe peat and tannin rich items but otherwise shouldnt really worry about it. My 55 has hundreds and hundreds of MTS shells littering the gravel and they do no harm. Ph stays below 7 always. no buffers or anything needed. My hardness is fairly high but that also helps keep the ph stable.

Oh geez that takes a huge load off of my chest! Thank you so much, I’ll keep that in mind. Guess it’s time to start cycling my tank then!
