Sure, throwing two Oscars in too small of a tank can be "pulled off" but isn't the right thing to do. I'd say go with one or maybe none. Get an appropriate sized tank if you want large cichlids.
I could be wrong but doesn't the Oscar have a similar but smaller growing cousin? I don't know the scientific name but research other Astronotus species...or someone here might know.
plenty of other awesome cichlids that would have more then enough room in that tank, IMO plenty of better looking and more interesting and less messy cichlids that are just as rewarding that not everyone who has walked into a petsmart can identify
