Pfft, get a 300 gallon.

DON'T BE A WUSS.

:p
SO Great news for me..

I just scored a 180 gallon (6x6x2) Woah! Craigslist Gold lol
Still in the process. Just have to go pick it up.
They mentioned they want to clean it, that is the delay.

How hard is it to clean the calcium off from old saltwater tanks? Id be willing to ask him to knock off a few bucks to make it even more of a deal lol

Nice find!

Should be fairly easy. Just soak it in full strength vinegar with paper towels. Keep them from drying, maybe plastic wrap???Leave it for an hour or more or possibly overnight and it should come right off. Worked for my 29 gallon acrylic which was a nano reef beforehand. Had some salt all over the bottom and filter. I also use vinegar to get the salt or calcium off when I clean my glass lids. I occasionally use salt in my freshwaters and spill a bit of my dissolved stuff since I'm clumsy. Plus ca and its hard water haha.

Congratulations on the purchased up grade. You have made me want to upgrade my 125 now to say, four hundred gallons, maybe? It never ends does it?

Thanks
Lol ahhh I wish. It ends here for mefot a while. I'm not even sure about setting this up immediately in my one bedroom apt haha! I def have the space but man what huge tank. I know I will be transitioning to buy a house in the next 2 years or so. So this is will do until I get somewhere permanent.

After that I'm sure it will never end.

Tank Update - 180 Upgrade.
(Typo on previous post , the tank measures 6x2x2)

Finally had some time (and help moving the tank once more) to get my upgrade going.
4th of July is here and I am ready to begin cycling.
I built out a stand for this tank and skinned the top. I will be finishing the stand with a few more support pieces and plywood doors on the front.

The glass was full of calcium, or what from saltwater setup, which I have have mostly got off now(in pics its still on the overflows and sides ).

Placing sand in and refilling her her up tomorrow after another rinse from tonights work,

If you do go with a sump you wouldn't regret it. They are so customizable.
Festae will look great in this.;)
