75 gallon help!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the grassy part near the tip of the limb is from moss growing on the tip with algae. the rest of the green on the limb is a grassy looking green algae. the big stump on the right side the whole top is completely covered in moss and looks great.
i initially just stuck pieces of moss inbetween cracks and tied it to any pieces using fishing line. Make sure you trim the moss as it grows because it can spread very quickly and vacuum it because it collects alot of small particles of waste etc.

i'll try to a post an updated version on the forum in a day or two. I've since removed the white sucker (went into the pond because it was too big) and i also got rid of the big stump for more swimming room.

Well I was just planning on sticking anubias nana in the driftwood crevasses. But the moss seems just as low maintenance ^.^ What kind of substrate is that? I have pool filter sand and an contemplating mixing it with small riverstone gravel to give it more texture.

well if you want a native style tank thats pretty low maintenance i would get alot of american val. very pretty tall slim leaves. easy to maintain. The substrate it actually just plain sand taken from a nearby lake with some rocks.

Yeah my mom has some american val. in her tank ^.^ Stuff grows like a weed lol. I'm plannin on ordering my fish probably from Jonah's, any idea if there fish list gets larger around may?

If I remember correctly the fish lists seemed the largest in July Aug time frame for most of the native LFS's. Have you had any luck finding a Snail or Spotted Bullhead?
