75 Gallon or 90 Gallon?

Get the 75. The 90 is the same tank. What would you need the extra height for? It dosen't fit any bigger of a fish. It dosen't even give the fish any extra swimming or turning room. If you can afford the 90, either find a larger one that is used or get 2 75's. That is a good price for a new 75.

it does make the tank a heck of a lot nicer for viewing.

eg. here is my old (way overstocked) 90 and 65 - same footprint, but the 90 is 6" taller.

it gives more room to swim for the active swimmers and looks much better for viewing:

when I used to work at the LFS, customers would go through this same debate almost all the time.

almost everyone I talked to who went with the 75 said in retrospect they wished they got the 90..

nothing worse than getting a tank and then regretting you didn't get a different tank that you could have got instead..

For $100 more, it definitely isn't worth it. You might as well just buy another 6 foot tank with $200.

I like 90s so much better, but like you said it is just higher. However I think they look so much better. 100 dollars more is kind of steep though. Go 120 if you need to keep 4 foot at max.

I suggest the 75. The foot print is the most important thing. More oxygen saturation in shallower tanks too.

the bigger the better. get the biggest you can resonably afford. definately by used on craigslist. also, try to get one with all the fixings included. haggle with the seller too. if you don't have space for the bigger tank, make room... you won't regret it.

I looked on craigslist with no luck. I like the 120 tank, but I already have a stand for a 75 gallon tank. I ordered the 75 gallon tank, but I cancelled the order this morning. I'm still not certain. lol

I currently have 2 125gs, 6 55gs, 1 75g, 1 40g breeder, and a few 20s. I had a 180, but it was just too big imo.

TOO BIG!?!?!
Are you crazy?!?!? ;)
Can never be TOO big. :D

Uggh.
I like my 90 ..my fish dig it as well.
I also have a 75.
Depends on what you want to put in it and for how long.
