75 Gallon or 90 Gallon?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would go w/ the 90gal,..i have 2 and like em'
also have had 75gal and liked it too,..4''s sounds
like a small matter until you've seen them both,..

I would say it depends on the stocklist. I have a 75 and could use the extra height to put more decor in the bottom for the bottom dwellers and still give enough swimming space for my mid/top swimmers. Although My mother has a 75 and with her stock the 90 would be a waste.

How tall are you? :naughty: I'm 5'1" and I find that I am more likely to keep a regular cleaning schedule with a tank that I don't have to use a stepladder to get to, and for me the extra 4" would make quite a difference. However, I do like the bigger tanks, BUT if you could have two 75s instead of 1 90 for the same price, I would go with TWO BIG TANKS!!! :headbang2

like everyone else is saying it's the same foot print and with the 90 being 100$ more i'd say get two 75s.

I think it depends on the stock list. I tend towards bottom fish, and extra height doesn't look good when the bottom is stocked up and the top is empty. For me, I would save the money, buy a 75 and use the money I save to get a better filter. If I wanted more water volume to dilute nitrates, I would get a cheap 20+ gallon and make a sump.

75 for the price. You can't stock much more with 15 extra gallons, and it's easier to clean.

square footage more important factor than absolute gallonage for amount of fish one can keep so given that the 75, 90 and 110g regulars have 48 x 18 footprint and the price difference, i would go w/the 75 gallon tank. the only compelling reason to get the taller tanks are really for aesthetic appeal or b/c u have a variety of fish that live in distinct strata (ie top swimming arowana and bottom swimming catfish)
