I also think you will get a lot more grief from a JD,a jewel a convict and a firemouth in a 75 than a breeding pair of convicts with a few swordtails.
As soon as sexual maturity kicks in I reckon the firemouth would be first to suffer assuming the fish were all the same age to begin with.
Cichlids will always see other cichlids as much more of a threat than a few shoaling dithers.

lol but dude.....who the heck wants a pair of Convicts in a 75g? That's like...the most boring tank ever lol
Depends what you like. Personally I would find it much more interesting than an odd mix of cichlids that don't really belong together.
I am almost settled with an idea. I'm never100% until it's done. So I'm thinking a GT, Convict, 2 rio-negros plecos, and I want some type of schooling dither10-20.

Might add a firemouth too but who knows. I definitely don't want a pair of convicts. My last pair bred like crazy. And my angel fish would only eat so many.
ultimately the decision is your, we can only toss ideas out there - consider Stanzzzz the side of "Order" and Frank Castle the side of "Chaos".....
....but you can still get Order out of Chaos
