75 gallon tanks

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It is not just the water quality to be concerned with. You will need to do large frequent water changes but you are also putting three fish that grow over 10 inches and are extremely territorial in a 48 inch aquarium......could be problematic.

Btw not to be rude or anything but most jacks Dempsey only reach 8 inches most don't reach ten

So the tiny jack dempsey will be the one to get picked on. Lol.
Honestly wish you the best. Hope it works out. Keeps us updated.

Maybe if it’s a female. Males will definitely reach 10-12 inches given proper care. In the the longterm no two of those fish together will do well in a 75. You’ll get away with the Jack Dempsey and Texas for a while though two is not a good number with cichlids unless they are a pair but you will eventually have to rehome one or the other. I would just forget about the Oscar unless this is just a grow out tank for bigger plans.

Let’s here it

HybridFinatic HybridFinatic I have a plan b and u don't have to be rude about asking me about it all you need to know is that if my tank works out and my fish are happy nothing is going to change. And like I said I have a plan b so chill.

I never understand these threads. People come here ask a question and don’t like the response from people trying to help. In this case the question is asked after the fish are already ordered?

My JD is 8.5” and hes only 1 year old and gonna get bigger. If a male JD doesnt grow over 8” its due to poor diet and living conditions. I have my 8.5” male JD, 8.5” male texas, 8” male jag and 6” male jag in a 6’ 150 gallon tank and I feel like its to small. I have an 85 gallon tank and I would never try to cram my JD, Texas and jag into that at the size they are now let alone as full size adults. Yes they will physically fit in the 75 but they wont be happy and already aggressive fish will be even more aggressive and you will be doing large water changes frequently if you plan on trying to give them decent water conditions to live in. IMHO I wouldnt even try it unless the plan was to grow them to 4” or 5” and move them to a suitable tank.
