75 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ime bichirs are ignored by even the most aggressive of cichlids of course predation due to size should always be considered but with decently sized bichirs you should have no probs

Not attacking you and i am sorry if i came off that way...but in 6 months i think your 55 will be a different story.

We are just trying to say things change quickly and the over all health of a large cichlid such as an oscar would be better off in a 75 by himslef.

Not going to het into an internet arguement but you did say something about a typo...which would indicate that robham is dead wrong...which i disagree with

Oh I agree, for a 75 you really would want just the O. And typo because I felt like the 2 statements contradicted each other. "They are difficult to keep by them selves" and "they should be kept in their own tank". Unless he ment by the first statement that EBJD are just difficult to keep, in which case I stand by my earlier statement that they get a bad wrap. A lot that people find in LFS are already sick and that's why they are "problem" fish. But again, this is just my experience and what other people I've talked to with many EBJD seem to agree with.

"They shoukd be kept in there own tank"
And
" they are difficult to keep by themsleves"

To me that means they would do better off as a few ebjds kept in a species only tank.

Op first question was can he keep an o and ebjd together. I think its a bad idea but just my opinion

Simple misinterpretation of wording. O and EBJD would probably not work out but I feel like a GT and EBJD could, atleast size wise. If you were to have a problem it'd be that the GT is too aggressive for the EBJD but I think introduced young and with enough hiding space it'd be worth a shot.

Cichlidshady = cichlid addict4? (Like they are the same person?)
