Yes to puffs!!!! Are you planning to keep them with the polys? Are there any other freshwater puffs you’d consider? (Before I was obsessed with polys, I was obsessed with puffers)

Water garden/sump/filtration unit/tank combo looks great :)

First thanks!
No, puffs in their own tank. I dont know if I can or want to trust them with others. I may try something quick with them depending on what the them is.
Schoudenti is #1
Saps are not out of the question just need the crays to start cloning.
Pea puffs may be what actually ends up happening. They have a good mix at my lfs, can see males and females. I havent seen what they are eating yet but most are chubby. They want $10 each though. But if they eat prepared foods then I'll be happy to spend the extra on a couple. They qt all the fish when they order unless you want to get it a little cheaper then you have to pick it up when it arrives. Thats what I did with the congos I got 10 and they were a couple bucks less each. But honestly with all the meds and qt time I'd rather them handle it.

what an amazing tank!!!!!! I just joined yesterday and I spent the last hour, maybe 2, going through the thread. I'm at a loss of words to describe your background! I'm jealous of your dels, that's what I wanted, but no store has them around me. thanks for taking the time to share all of this. it's truly inspiring to see this for me just starting to get into these fish and back into the hobby.

Thank you! Yeah I got lucky with the dels and some of the others I have some pretty great lfs around me but even with that I still had to order a couple fish on line. Wetspot tropicals is a great place to get fish from. Ive had fish shipped from them twice now and they do a great job. I would wait until you are ready to get a few of the fish you want and can't find before ordering shipping isnt cheap.

I'm gonna see how my senegals do and learn as much as I can. I've been looking for not so local to me lfs just to get a list of places. I'd rather do the shipping myself and enjoy a small journey in the future. I'll just have to be nice to the wife until then.

I hear you. My wife gets.... jealous of time I spend on the tank so I try to keep it to a minimum when shes around. I have also tried to make maintaining the tank quicker and eaiser just turning a couple valves and flipping a switch for the most part. The Tank still needs vaccuming and glass needs cleaing but that I do everyother week for vac and glass clean only takes a couple mins once a week. Mostly just try to enjoy it while she watches her korean dramas.....uggg.

I usually alternate cleaning my different tanks. I have 2 tanks with axolotls, minnow tank, and now poly tank that I'm hoping will do ok. my wife has been been outta town for a while so I've been unsupervised. and I'm sure everyone knows what happens when we aren't being watched. lol. I've moved stuff around, got more tanks, and now more fish. oops!!

When that cats away. I used to have a huge saltwater setup somewhere around 2000g. Id buy peoples setups that were getting out and keep what I wanted and sell or trade the rest. My wife went to a CE one time in Chicago and was gone for the weekend she came home I had two 300g acrylic tanks in the basement, she lost it. I wasnt planning on keeping both but that was the deal. I ended up selling both of them after I cleaned them up. Thats why this is the biggest single tank ive had set up.
