It's curious how the Gibberosa show their beautiful blue color so well under sunlight and yet my two AI Hydra 64 HD units show mostly grey colors and almost no blue regardless of what settings I use trying to get closer to full spectrum. Though I'm not even sure what the CRI rating is on these as I can't seem to find any info anywhere. My units are rather expensive but they can't see to do what I want.

I just ordered a Hygger 60w aquarium light which is advertised to be full spectrum and have a CRI of 90-95, should have it in another week or so. I'm hoping this does the trick. If good results then I'll definitely post some pics.

Beautiful! Can’t wait to see the new lighting
Which lights do you use on your Moba tank? What are your thoughts on the color of your Moba with direct sunlight in your tank vs when your tank lights are turned on?

I’m using a 48” Current USA Satellite Pro with just the whites and blues running for sort of a cool blue look. I also push the light to one side of the tank, so the leftmost side is a little dimmer.

It doesn’t get a whole lot of direct sunlight, to be honest, as the tank is in a basement with only small windows in the room. I also try to keep the exterior light down to prevent algae.

However, when I do take a look in the daytime under natural light you can really see the natural blues. I do find they look a little lighter in my LED lighting - maybe due to my white sand, also.

This was my Kapampa group under a regular blue/white LED with the rear glass painted black. The light bar was 48” on a 72” tank. They showed deep blue to almost purple at times, which was more evident at the ends of the tank in the lower light areas of the tank. Some of which was definitely mood related as well 🤗

Installed the Hygger 60 watt light. The light is set at 6500 color temperature, which auto-sets Red, Blue, and Green the same percentage. I also have my AI Hydra 64 HD units turned on (at very back of tank) which are set at only blues & whites.

In the video the light from the Hygger and the AI Hydra 64 HD are hitting fish in the back of the tank. So it appears that the combination of my two lights shows some blue on the fish whereas either light by itself shows little to no blue color on the Moba. I also note that these two lights together do not show the blue colors on the fish as intensely as what true sunlight shows.

Here's a longer video showing the same thing.

In the last two videos I posted I had the AI Hyrda 64 lights turned up to 9% and the Hygger light turned up to 32%. Tomorrow I'm going turn both lights up to a much higher percentage to see if that has a positive impact.
