The question is for Jose, but if you answer for him, he must be busy, and you need to read the questions first. Noone criticize your bio filtration. We just point out the flaw in your filter. You don't need to twist and turn like your panties... :screwy:

Gotta say John, you're pretty good at this stuff.

Huh?: "Noone criticize your bio Filtration. We just point out the flaw in your filter."

What does that even mean? It doesn't make any sense. Are you trying to pull a Will Ferrell in Blades of glory on me? :nilly:

This has turned into the Ethics of buying fish that you know full well that you can't care for, regardless of the filtration system you put on a 600G tank.

It's the perfect example of a Catch 22 situation: A situation in which a desired outcome or solution is impossible to attain because of a set of inherently illogical rules or conditions.

If you are successful at keeping a fish, it will grow into an adult specimen, right?

But there is no way that some of the species you try to keep will ever grow into healthy adult specimens in a 600G tank. It's just not going to happen, especially not with a dozen other huge tankmates.

PS- Insulting my heritage (although you got it right this time, I'm Cuban, not Mexican as you originally mentioned in another thread), my fish keeping decisions, my filter, my choice in underwear (how did you know I wore panties today?) is not going to upset me at this point. Continue to lash out at me, but please STOP buying fish you can't keep. I will even allow you to punch me in the face, if it means you will not buy another fish that grows larger than a Labrador Retriever.

Well said Aldiaz, John, I don't know you at all, so nothing I have said is personal, just your tanks and threads disgust me. I would rather have a 10g planted then one of yours. Ease up on the amount of fish man.

I think he means that no one is saying you don't have enough bio in your tank right now. You do have enough bio. But that's because of how lightly you stocked a huge tank. Most people on this thread agree with that. For people with smaller tanks/sumps and average sized stocklist, this design won't work for them. That's all I was saying and I think John is saying the same thing. I know you're going to say "I'm not most people" and "if it doesn't work for you, then you overstock," but that's the whole point. It means no one should copy this sump design unless they are very understocked.

Yeah you're the white knight of fishkeeping haha.

I guess u don't understand bio filtration, if his params are good and his tank is staying cycled then he has adequate bb in his bio, not to mention bb grows on everything in the tank as well. Pretty sure I also heard 50LBS OF POND MATRIX......

Oh, ok, thanks for translating. Going forward I am just going to assume that any incoherent statement means that my filter sucks. Got it.

Correction: *Cuban White Knight

I'm still wondering how John is going to filter his 600G tanks with 1,000lbs of fish. That Koi filter ain't gonna cut it. No how, no way!

If anyone needs more bio, it's him. He also needs a tank thats about 50 times bigger than his 600G.

It's clearly not working for him now, so when the fish grow...? hmmm? Do dead fish grow? I don't think they do, but they sure create a lot of ammonia.

He's going to need more bio.

I beg to differ. Here's a smaller tank. Smaller sump and a bigger stock list, with the same type of filter setup.

Please keep posting. It only continues to prove how little you know about filtration.

WOW!!!!:WHOA::WHOA:This seems to have gotton out of hand as Usual !!!!! I am going to start another thread specificly about tank size and what kind of Bio it could handle depending on design flow and actual percentages of Poop collection!!!!! It could be very interesting and informative :naughty::naughty::naughty:Instead of tearing up this thread any further !!!! I believe we have not scratched the surface on what can or cannot be housed in a 600 gallon tank who's up for debate without getten to nasty:naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty::naughty:
